NEW NURSING HOME TO CREATE 120 JOBS

Over 100 new jobs will be created at a new nursing home over the three months. Cairnhill Nursing Home, which opens on Monday, will make 120 positions available in Bray, Co Wicklow in nursing, administration and other areas.

Developer McMahon Healthcare Group, which already operates a 42-bed nursing home in Foxrock, Co Dublin, said new roles will open up in catering and support positions.

APP FIRM REEP TO CREATE 20 NEW JOBS IN DUBLIN

Reep, an app firm that offers consumers cash-based rewards, is to create 20 new jobs in Dublin over the next 12 months.

STREAM GLOBAL SERVICES CREATE 993 JOBS IN BELFAST

Almost 1,000 jobs are being created by a call centre company in east Belfast. The investment is by the US-based company, Stream, and is supported by government grants of more than £3m.

About half of the 993 jobs are already in place, as the firm began recruiting last year with the approval of Invest NI.

It has established a new contact centre at Airport Road West in the east of the city. The majority of the positions are in customer service. Stream provides customer support for firms like the mobile phone company O2.

FOUR CONNECTIRELAND COMPANIES CREATE 83 NEW JOBS IN CORK AND DUBLIN

Job announcements from four US companies at the Global Irish Economic Forum, which will see 83 new positions created in Dublin and Cork.

Of the 83 jobs announced today, 65 are involved in STEM industries.

Washington-based company Sound & Sea Technologies headed up the announcements with 55 jobs for Co Cork and Technology consultants Strategic Marketing Innovations (SMI) will expand its US operation in Ireland, creating 10 new jobs in Dublin over the next year. Additional job announcements came from corporate training entity Improv Asylum, which will establish its European operations in Dublin as IA Innovation, creating 12 jobs. Finally, an affiliate of the legal consultancy The Bayne Law Group, Bayne International Limited will create six jobs in Cork City to support the group’s operations in the US.

IT ALLIANCE TO CREATE 75 JOBS AS IT INVESTS 2M EUROS

Technology firm IT Alliance is to create 75 jobs in the coming year as part of a €2 million investment. The company, which offers IT outsourcing and managed services, already employs more than 400 people in Ireland. In 2012, it set up an IT support and cloud services company Auxilion, which employs 30 people. Its customers include Microsoft, BT, IBM, Dell and HP.

The new jobs will cover a range of positions across IT, account management, project management, digital marketing and business operations.

MANUFACTURING COMPANY ANNOUNCES 260 JOBS FOR TYRONE

A US manufacturing company has announced the creation of 260 new jobs for Co Tyrone.

Terex, which makes equipment for the construction, quarrying and mining industries, will be investing £22 million (€26 million) in its operations in Northern Ireland.

The company already employs 1,100 full-time staff at its factories in Dungannon and Omagh. The new jobs for 260 skilled workers will be filled over the next four years, with the assistance of £2.6 million in funding from Invest Northern Ireland.

25 JOBS FOR GALWAY

TWENTY-five new jobs are being created by a facility management company in Loughrea, Co Galway. Neylon Maintenance is building a €1m software support centre in the east Galway town to facilitate the development and distribution of new software Flex FMS. Headquartered in Loughrea, Neylon Maintenance currently employs 276 people nationwide.

Neylon MaintenanceNeylon Maintenance has already started recruiting for the new positions and the plan is to grow the head count to a full complement of 25 people, with building work on the new centre due to start this week.

55 NEW JOBS AT CARLOW WHISKEY DISTILLERY

Independent, family-owned Walsh Whiskey Distillery is to make a significant €25m expansion programme for its award winning, super premium and ultra premium Irish whiskey brands – The Irishman and Writers Tears.

The expansion will create a total of 55 permanent and part-time jobs in the Carlow area over five years, where the whiskies will be distilled, crafted and aged. The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, through Enterprise Ireland, is supporting the project.
