Global consulting group Accenture has announced the creation of 140 new jobs in Ireland. The company is looking for graduates and specialists with experience in Java, business systems, cloud computing and digital technologies.

Fifty new jobs have been announced this morning at Aer Arann. The airline says it is planning to boost its workforce by 15% over the next year and double its annual passenger numbers to over two million by 2018. The positions will be in a variety of areas such as flight and cabin crew, engineering and support roles. Recruitment for the jobs, which will be based at the airline’s headquarters in Dublin and in Dublin Airport, is underway, bringing the company’s overall staff numbers to 370. Aer Arann also unveiled eight new aircraft this morning.

Cubic Telecom, a company specialising in global mobile connectivity, will create more than 70 new jobs over the next three years as part of an investment by Enterprise Ireland, supported by the Department of Jobs,Enterprise and Innovation. The company has secured a total of $5.2 million in funding from Enterprise Ireland, Qualcomm Incorporated, ACT Venture Capital and TPS Investments. It said it would use the funds to further expand its operations globally and continue to invest in its software platform and mobile network. Cublic Telecom is headquartered in Dublin and has offices in the US.
Opel Ireland has announced a further expansion to its network with four new car dealerships in Limerick, Offaly, Carlow and Kildare. A total of 20 new jobs will be created with Hinchy’s in Limerick and six new jobs with the O’Brien Group in Tullamore, Co Offaly. Meanwhile a further 44 jobs will be secured with the appointment of Fitzpatrick’s Garages in Carlow and Naas.
Hospitality company Airbnb is to establish its European headquarters in Dublin. It is understood that around 100 new jobs could be created as a result of the announcement.

Sandwich maker Freshways has been acquired in a management buyout (MBO) from Kerry Foods by Diarmuid Shanahan and Garrett Fitzgerald.
The business, which operates from a purpose built production facility in Finglas in Dublin, will continue to employ more than 170 staff following the deal.
Dublin is to benefit from a jobs boost today, with the creation of 25 new jobs. Overseas sales consultancy firm, Extra Sales, which specialises in selling Irish owned overseas properties is expanding it's operations over the next two year's. Six positions will be filled immediately ranging from administration to sales management roles across a variety of countries including China, Bulgaria, Turkey, Spain and Russian.
Software and telecoms provider Asidua has revealed plans to create 16 new jobs, more than doubling the company’s headcount. New expansion plans will see Asidua grow its Dublin office, as well as offer its application and data integration services and solutions based on its customer contact platform and platform for policing. The company has deployed services based on this software for major clients, including BT, Milton Keynes Council, London Borough of Harrow, Chorley Council, a major UK police constabulary, as well as an international mobile phone operator.
