350 NEW JOBS IN IRELAND WITH CAFFE NERO

UK specialist coffee retailer CAFFE NERO is planning to invest €20 million in Ireland over the next five years to open 40 stores and create up to 350 new jobs.

 
The company is scouting locations in suburban Dublin and Mr Ford said it would, over time, consider opening in airports and other main transport hubs, and at partnering with certain retailers. It also plans to open cafes outside the capital.

Caffe Nero’s first Irish outlet opened on Merrion Row in Dublin on March 13th. A second will open this summer, also in Dublin.

GOOD4U CREATES 25 JOBS IN SLIGO

Irish healthfood company Good4U has secured a €1m investment which will allow it to open a new research and development (R&D) and production headquarters (HQ) and create 25 new jobs in Sligo over the next two years.

 
The new HQ is in Finisklin Industrial Estate in Sligo and will be in addition to its manufacturing facility in Cookstown, Co Tyrone, which employs 18 people. Twelve of the jobs in Sligo have already been filled and the rest should be filled within the next year or so.

WHISKEY MUSEUM CREATE 25 JOBS IN DUBLIN

Dublin is set to get another tourist attraction with the opening of an Irish Whiskey Museum by local tours operator Extreme Event Ireland Ltd at a cost of €1.9 million.

The museum is slated to open in August and create 25 jobs. It will tell the story of Irish whiskey and showcase the country’s growing list of brands, including Jameson, Bushmills and Tullamore Dew.

The museum will be located at 119 Grafton Street and 37 College Green opposite the front gates of Trinity College. This is one of the busiest thoroughfares in the city, attracting a high footfall of tourists.

60 NEW JOBS IN SANTRY

A second Jump Zone premises is opening in Dublin, this time in Santry, involving an investment of over €1.3m and creating over 60 jobs.

The trampoline business set up by Daniel Begley and Paul Quinn created over 40 jobs in October 2012 when they invested over €750,000 in their first 20,000 sq ft facility in Sandyford. 

Spread over 35,000sq ft, the indoor trampoline park in Santry will become Jump Zone’s flagship premises and the largest of its kind in Europe with two Dodgeball courts, a main trampoline court and Europe’s first foam pit.

MAYO FIRM TO CREATE 19 JOBS

Mayo-based cloud services firm CloudStrong is to add 19 jobs, tripling its workforce as it looks to build its business in the UK.

The company, which is one of Enterprise Ireland’s high potential start-ups, will create roles in sales and marketing, along with some technical positions.

ADROLL MOVING TO EXPANDED OFFICE SPACE IN DUBLIN AND REVISES UPWARDS ITS HIRING PLANS

AdRoll said today that it has revised upwards its hiring plans in Dublin for the coming year and will move to a new larger office in Burlington Plaza in June. The company has not specified how many additional jobs it will be creating but said the new office has capacity for 120 people and it expects to reach this number quite quickly.

The company, which provides a retargeting platform used by 10,000 active advertisers worldwide, set up its EMEA headquarters in Dublin last October with plans to create 100 jobs in the first 12 months.

25 NEW JOBS ON THE WAYS AS HMV OPENS GALWAY CITY STORE

A NEW HMV store is set to open in Galway city centre, the music retailer’s parent company Hilco Capital has confirmed.

25 jobs will be created at the 4,855 square foot outlet — which will be located at units 3 & 4 Edward Square. An opening date is yet to be confirmed.

Today’s announcement brings the total number of HMV stores in Ireland to six, since the brand reappeared here last year. Hilco acquired HMV from its administrators last spring, in a deal worth an estimated €59 million.

Stores have since opened at Henry Street, Dundrum and Liffey Valley in Dublin; Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick, while the new store on Dublin’s Grafton Street is set to open for business in the coming weeks.
