BIOMARIN TO CREATE 50 NEW JOBS IN DUBLIN

BioMarin Manufacturing Ireland is to create 50 new jobs at its Dublin Global Commercial Operation Hub. The company will be recruiting staff for senior accounting, finance, customer service and marketing positions.

The company is a subsidiary of BioMarin Pharmaceuticals.

The Dublin operation has responsibility for international supply chain, logistics and high level commercial decision-making, including price, distribution and third-party contracts for the launch of VIMIZIM.

The expansion complements the growth in BioMarin’s biopharma manufacturing facility in Shanbally, Co Cork, which is expected to grow to 140 employees by 2015 to support the anticipated commercial demand of VIMIZIM.

FIRST MEXICO-DUBLIN BUSINESS CONFERENCE

Over 90 business and political leaders from Mexico have travelled to Dublin and will meet around 70 Dublin business leaders during the two-day event.

“This event is about promoting Dublin as a natural gateway to Europe for Mexican business and investment,” said the Lord Mayor. “Dublin, a eurozone capital and home to nine of the world’s top 10 ICT companies and many of its leading financial institutions, enjoys many advantages. Trade between Ireland and Mexico is now worth about €1bn and year and has the capacity to double in the next five years.”

Mexico is Ireland’s largest trading partner in Latin America.   Last year, Ireland exported €690m worth of goods to Mexico, almost three times the value of exports in 2000.

400 IT JOBS TO BE CREATED IN NEWTOWNABBEY BY CAPITA

Four hundred jobs are to be created in Newtownabbey, County Antrim by business IT services firm Capita.

The jobs are to be created over three years.

Capita Managed IT Solutions was formed in 2013 when Capita plc acquired Northgate Managed Services Ltd.

OLIVER MARKETING TO CREATE 20 NEW JOBS THIS YEAR

50 JOBS FOR KILDARE UNDERWATER TECHNOLOGY COMPANY

Irish underwater technology company Cathx Ocean is to create 50 jobs in Kildare over the next two years.

The jobs boost comes after the company won a deal to supply equipment to US underwater vehicle manufacturer Bluefin Robotics.

115 NEW JOBS IN LONGFORD AND PORTUMMA

Longford Green Isle Foods, a leading Consumer Foods company has today [Tuesday] announced that the company will make a significant investment of €30m across its operations in Ireland which will result in an additional 115 jobs over the next 5 years.

The investment programme, supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland, was approved by Cabinet this morning and will position the company for future growth in Ireland and overseas.

As a result of this investment, an additional 50 jobs will be created at the company’s pizza production facility in Longford and an additional 65 jobs in its pastry production plant in Portumna. Further growth will be supported across its operations following on from today’s announcement. This investment also secures the jobs of the 700 people currently employed by Green Isle.

EUROMEDIC IRELAND PROMISES OVER 100 NEW JOBS

A NEW PRIMARY care clinic being set up in Dublin city centre is promising over 100 jobs when it is fully open.

The scanning centre will be located in the new €6m Meath Primary Care clinic on the site of the former Meath Hospital in Dublin 8.

It says that over 100 people will be employed at Meath Primary Care in total when the centre is fully operational in July 2014.

OXFORD INTERNATIONAL TO CREATE 56 JOBS IN CORK

IT and engineering recruitment firm Oxford International has invested €16m into its Cork-based European headquarters, which will result in the creation of 56 new jobs over the next 18 months.

The company has already begun its recruitment drive to fill primarily administrative positions and roles for recruiters and account managers.

With the addition of these employees, Oxford International's workforce will almost double to 130 jobs at its Penrose Quay facility in Cork City, making it the largest recruitment office in Ireland's southern region.
